An arrest warrant authorises a police officer to arrest a particular person, take them into custody and then bring them before a court. As a JP, you ensure the warrant is necessary and there is enough evidence to support allegations. This important role is described in this chapter of the Duties of Justices of the Peace (Qualified) handbook.
