WHS Plans for - Working at TAFE Queensland Campuses

Safety is paramount at all Queensland Government sites and facilities, including TAFE Queensland campuses.

TAFE Queensland have WHS Management Plans for each of its facilities and these are updated regularly to ensure they remain current.

Before commencing work at any TAFE Queensland site, contractors and their workers must ensure they review the current WHS Management Plans and consider how this information applies to their own safe systems of work.

WHS Management Plans are broken down into two parts;

Part One - General

Part 1 of the WHS Management Plan contains general WHS material and information regarding common hazards known to the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) and is applicable to all campuses. Part 1 also has information regarding Safe Work Permits, which are required for some works, including hazardous works, hot works, roof-top access and working at heights as well as any cutting, coring or excavation works. Refer Page 17 for more details. Note that at least 72 hours' notice is required to obtain a Safe Work Permit. Please email trainingassets@desbt.qld.gov.au with applications and enquiries.

Part Two - Campus Specific

Part 2 of the WHS Management Plans provide campus-specific information including; * emergency contact details * layout * access requirements * information about the known hazards at the campus * evacuation signage details

Part 2 of the WHS Plans for individual TAFE campuses are available onsite from the TAFE Queensland facilities representative, and online via links below. Contractors and workers should consult the facilities representative if they require further campus-specific WHS information.
