The Amendment Regulation will ensure that the customer protection, afforded by the Default Market Offer that was available to customers prior to the installation of a smart meter, remains in place. It will also ensure that retailers will be obligated to offer a flat rate retail tariff to all its customers, and customers who have been moved to a demand or time of use tariff will be able to switch to a flat rate retail tariff.
