Colonial Secretary's Office - 1859-1896
The correspondence records of the Colonial Secretary’s Office are a valuable source of information relating to Queensland Aboriginals in the nineteenth century. There are also several references to Torres Strait Islanders, mainly in the reports from the Government Resident at Somerset (Cape York) and the Government Resident on Thursday Island. This index was compiled by Mark Copland, Andrew Walker and other researchers with the assistance of a grant from the Community and Personal Histories Unit.
