Chapter 2.7 – Assisting people with disabilities
As a JP you must maintain the procedures, integrity and independence of your office while offering additional help for people with a disability. Anytime an interpreter is used, they must be placed on oath or affirmation before assisting the client with a disability. Resources including oaths and affirmations are given in this chapter of the Duties of Justices of the Peace (Qualified) handbook.
