Report on the Taskforce on Organised Crime Legislation
The Taskforce was charged with reviewing the 2013 anti-bikie legislation.
While it has recommended the repeal of the greater part of the 2013 suite it has also developed a renewed Organised Crime Framework—a package of laws that preserves some parts of the suite but overcomes what the Taskforce concluded were excessive, disproportionate or unnecessary elements. It is also better suited for combating not just outlaw motorcycle gangs, but organised crime in all its forms.
This report describes the Taskforce’s activities and resulting recommendations.
