The Future is Electric - Queensland's Electric Vehicle Strategy

The Future is Electric: Queensland's Electric Vehicle Strategy will prepare and position Queensland for a transition to a greater uptake of EVs ensuring that Queensland is in the best position to capture the benefits and opportunities that these vehicles will bring.

Although there are few plug-in electric vehicles currently registered in Queensland the price of these vehicles is falling and their range is increasing - making EVs more attractive and viable vehicles for consumers.

The Future is Electric outlines 16 cost-effective initiatives that the Queensland Government will implement to encourage consumer and support the uptake of these vehicles. These initiatives aim to:

• empower consumers
• enable supporting infrastructure
• explore cost-effective support programs
• envisage future government actions.
