Home Secretary's Office - 1896 - 1903

The correspondence records of the Home Secretary’s Office (6/8/1896-5/12/1935) are a valuable source of information relating to Queensland Aboriginals in the nineteenth century. There are also several references to Torres Strait Islanders, mainly in the reports from the Government Resident at Somerset (Cape York) and the Government Resident on Thursday Island. This index was compiled by staff of the Community and Personal Histories Unit.
