Reducing business disruption from major infrastructure work

Businesses, in general, benefit from major infrastructure works through procurement opportunities, and improved amenity and public infrastructure like transport networks and revitalised local shopping strips.

However, major infrastructure work may affect businesses so it is important to working collaboratively with the business community to manage periods of change associated with major infrastructure projects.

We have developed some new resources to support all stakeholders to plan ahead to reduce disruption and take advantage of possible opportunities.

For the Queensland Government and local councils, project managers and contractors: we have developed a new guide and a checklist to support you in working with businesses, including practical advice for engaging with potentially affected businesses, to minimise business disruption and support jobs during infrastructure projects. For small businesses potentially affected by infrastructure works: we have an online guide and a printable checklist to help you develop a plan to minimise disruption before construction begins, during construction and at completion.
