A production notice is a document authorising a police officer to obtain documents when they reasonably suspect a cash dealer holds documents that may provide evidence of the commission of an offence or suspicious financial activity by someone else. This important role is described in this chapter of the Duties of Justices of the Peace (Qualified) and Commissioners for Declarations handbook.

This chapter relates to duties which can only be carried out by Justices of the Peace (Qualified).

This chapter should be read in conjunction with Chapter 4.1- Witnessing documents - general procedure and Chapter 4.6 - Administering oaths and affirmations.
