Chapter 2.7 - Assisting people with disability
As a JP or Cdec you must maintain the procedures, integrity and independence of your office while offering additional help for people with disability. Anytime an interpreter is used, they must be placed on oath or affirmation before assisting the client with disability. Resources including oaths and affirmations are given in this chapter of the Duties of Justices of the Peace (Qualified) and Commissioners for Declarations handbook.
